“Myths and Goddesses” – A Visual Journey into Mythology by Essex-Based Artist Mark Haslett

Southend-on-Sea, Essex — Step into a realm of ancient magic, myth, and mystery this November at Skia Fos Studio, as Essex-based fine art photographer and visual storyteller Mark Haslett unveils his captivating new exhibition, “Myths and Goddesses.”

Running Monday 3rd – Sunday 9th November (10am–5pm daily), this immersive showcase breathes new life into legendary female figures and creatures from Greek mythology.

Spanning over three years in the making, Myths and Goddesses is a true labour of love that fuses photo artistry, mixed media, and narrative visual storytelling. Each piece begins as a concept sketch before evolving through handcrafted costumes and props, carefully chosen models, evocative locations, and intricately layered digital artistry. From the haunting gaze of Medusa to the fierce grace of ancient goddesses, Mark’s work invites viewers to look beyond the myth and into the soul of these often misunderstood figures.

“This series is rooted in my childhood fascination with fantasy and mythology,” says Mark. “I wanted to explore both the power and tragedy within these stories—many of which still resonate deeply today.”

Hosted at the stunning Skia Fos Studio, Westcliff-on-Sea, Southend-on-Sea SS0 9AG, www. Skiafosstudio.co.uk this exhibition promises a striking fusion of history, imagination, and contemporary visual technique.

Admission is free. For more information, follow Mark on Instagram at @artographybymark.
